For the vast majority of churches, this is the place to start. This workshop, usually held over one weekend, brings one of our consultants to your ministry setting. Ahead of the event, we will be in conversation with you about the history and heritage of the church, elements of the local community and culture, and specific issues and challenges you are facing. In addition, we provide materials to be shared with leadership and prayer groups in advance of the weekend.
Saturday
Generally, the Saturday session involves six hours of workshop time. We will work during the lunch hour.

- A clarifying discussion of the role and nature of the church
- An exploration of effective and authentic leadership
- Teaching time focused on little-known (and often ignored) facts about ministry today
- Reflection on the nature and presence of spiritual gifts within the gathered group
- Introductions to the concepts of Appreciative Inquiry and Ignatian Discernment
- Time for experiencing spiritual practices
- Introductions to the models we use for Core Values, Vision, and Mission
Sunday
Generally, the Sunday session involves three to four hours of workshop time. Please note: participants in the Sunday session must have also been in attendance for the entire Saturday session.

Average Attendance 125 or Less, Up to 50 Participants in the Workshop
Base price: $3,500, up to 50 participants (see note 1)
- Preparatory conversations with clergy and key staff & leaders
- Preparatory handouts for up to 15 leaders (see note 2)
- Saturday and Sunday Workshops, including materials and handouts
- Six months of followup coaching conversations with the senoir leadership
Optional/Additional Items:
- Reasonable travel expenses, including airfare and lodging, for churches outside of the Colorado Front Range area (see the Fine Print at the bottom of the page)
- Additional coaching beyond the initial six months, discounted by 25% for up to six more months
- If you cannot provide meeting space (within your church, another local church, or elsewhere), we can arrange for space at additional cost
- Generally, groups within the church (but not involving the event participants) contribute by providing lunch; if that is not possible, we can arrange for catering at additional cost
- In some situations, separate Appreciative Inquiry sessions – scheduled in advance of the workshop – may be helpful in recalling the story of your church; these are available at additional cost
- Additional participants can be accommodated for a small additional fee
- For workshops which require significant customization, there may be additional costs – please be in conversation with us about pricing
- Additional handouts and materials can be provided for a small additional fee

Base price: $5,000

All prices subject to change.
Expense Costs
In addition to our base rates, we add travel expenses for work done outside of the Denver metro area. These fees include all reasonable and customary travel expenses including coach airfare, ground transportation, lodging, meals, and related out of pocket expenses. A complete travel expense report will be submitted with our invoice.
Contracting With Us
When you decide to enter into a contract with us, we will send you a formal contract. Once the contract is signed, a deposit of 15% of our base fee will be required in order to reserve the dates of the workshop. If we cancel the workshop, the deposit will be returned to you. If you cancel the workshop, the deposit will be retained by us and applied to future workshops or consultations for a period of one year from the date of cancellation.

Invoices will be sent from Barlow Consulting LLC, terms net 30 + 1.5%.
